Rat i mir (Serbian Cyrillic: Рат и мир, lit. "War and Peace") is the fifth studio album by Serb war singer Baja Mali Knindža, released in late 1993 by SuperTon. It was released along side "Kockar bez sreće" and is accompanied by Orkestar Pravoslavci. The album features one of Baja's most famous songs, "Tata".

Release

Sometime in late 1993 SuperTon released two Baja albums, Rat i mir and Kockar bez sreće. Rat i mir being the first one of the double release, it, unlike Kockar bez sreće, features patriotic songs.

The Album would feature day to day topics like the hyperinflation of the Yugoslav dinar in Diler or the general hardships of war in Grešnik, Dražo about the chaotic Serb politics at the time and Tata satirizing the anti-Serb sentiments prominent in western media.

Tata would gain a lot of popularity in recent times due to the "My dad is a war criminal" meme and turn its original message to one of unironic glorification of war crimes.

Shortly after in 1994 there would also be a VHS of the same name which included music videos for many of the songs. The same year the RTVJ compilation "Koktel srpskih pevača" would feature three songs from the album, Grešnik, Dražo and Jovo, which suggests a possible RTVJ release of Rat i mir.

SuperTon uploaded the album to YouTube and various other streaming platforms for the first time in 2015. 5 years later in 2020 it got reuploaded together together with a lot of other albums and redistributed to streaming services.
