I zato pjevat ću... (lit: And that's why I will sing...) is the first and only studio album of the Slavonski Brod band Trag Vječnosti, released in May 1993. The album was of humanitarian character, the money made from the tape being paid into the accounts of the Brod branch of the HVIDR.[1] The album was dedicated to the killed and wounded Croatian soldiers.[2]

Background

Trag Vječnosti released their first war song in 1992, named Stazama garde, which achieved great popularity. Based on this momentum, the band would release a solo album in collaboration with the Brod branch of the HVIDR, in order to help the families of wouded and killed soldiers.[1]

Release

The album was recorded in May 1993 in Zagreb in studio Mlinčić, while the sound processing would be done by Croatiaton. The majority of the songs would be written by Ivana Glavašević. As vocalist, Zvonimir Ćosić - Ćosa would be the main one, while Predrag Matasović performed on only two songs (A4 and B4). The majority of the songs would be patriotic in nature, but it also contained a few love songs. The album also contained the song Gospa Marija, an adaptation of the poem by the same name written by famous Croatian writer Antun Gustav Matoš (1873-1914) and a readaptation of their famous Stazama garde.
