Background

During the war in Slavonski Brod, various singers and groups recorded patriotic songs. In 1992, at the initiative of Duško Svilar, a corresponded and photographer for HRT during the war in Slavonski Brod, also a rock singer during his youth, decided to compile some of these songs in one place.

Release

After the songs were processed at studio Rococo in Zagreb, the cassette was released in late 1992 by Radio Brod, Posavska Hrvatska and the society Naša djeca. The cassette had a humanitarian purpose, the receipts from the tape going to humanitarian causes.

The name of the tape comes from the title of a book named Mom Brodu, ranjenom i ponosnom, written by Brod author Slavica Brinzej that contained patriotic literature, which coincided with the release of the tape. The back of the tape contains a poem called Hrvatskom Sinu by author Stanislava Čarapina and a mention of every person involved in the making of the compilation.
