Crna žena (lit. "Black Woman"), is the third studio album by Ljubiša Kalas. It would be the second collaboration with lyricist Rade Vidić and the last time Kalas was accompanied by Orkestar RTV Sarajevo. All but three songs would be featured as bonus tracks in the CD release of Sve Se Vrati, Sve Se Plati. Due to the location of people involved, it is assumed that Renome is in possession of the master and became the rights holders to the album post-war.
Background
The phrase "crna žena" does not literally refer to a black woman, but rather is an idiom commonly used to denote a woman who is deceitful or wicked. Its proper translation is "cursed woman".
The album is the second collaboration with lyricist Rade Vidić and composer and lyricist Ljubo Kešelj. The two would go onto write for Kalas during the war in Ljubo Granata and Vera pravoslavna respectively. Milivoje Pećanac (who wrote "Uzela si sve") wrote "Ostavite čoveka na miru" on the 1994 self-titled Srećko Ćosić album, which was arranged by Ljubo Kešelj. The arranger for the title track, Sinan Alimanović worked previously with Rade Vidić on the songs "Blago tebi" and "Adrijana" on the 1988 Ferid Avdić album, Navika si moja bila. Slobodan Vidović, a conductor of RTV Sarajevo and the conductor of the previous album, had arranged some songs on the album and was the lyricist for the song "Osvetiću ti se". While Mensur Mrehić is not as notable as the other artists featured on the album, he would compose a couple of songs for Mahir Bureković, a singer and songwriter who would go onto write a few patriotic albums during the war.
Release
Crna žena would release some time in 1991 by PGP RTB on both cassette and vinyl formats. While most of the album has been recovered due to appearing as bonus tracks in the 1999 album Sve Se Vrati, Sve Se Plati. The tracks "Gde je sada moja dana", "Osvetiću ti se" and "Sanja l' me" would become lost media until 2023 where the audio from the tape would be uploaded from YouTube.
