Srbija (Serbian Cyrillic: Србија, lit. "Serbia") is the eleventh studio album by Milka Todorović, released some time in 1993 by SuperTon. The album's CD release would be the first CD ever released by the company. Categorically it is the first collaboration with Swiss distributor RTVJ.
Background
When the breakup of Yugoslavia happened, Diskos was in chaos. Cvetin Todorović, an employee and Milka's husband at the time would set up his own production studio, SuperTon.[1] Milka who would release her works under Diskos would migrate to SuperTon for the rest of her singing career as a result.
Release
Srbija would release some time in 1993 by SuperTon. While it was only on cassette in its domestic release, it would have two different covers. Both are of the same photoshoot and a similar pose, just at different angles. The assumed first issue has the "Novo" ("New") tagline on it. Reissues would omit this. It was also released on CD format by RTVJ, a Swiss distributor. RTVJ would also handle the cassette distribution in Switzerland.
Despite its title implying a patriotic album, most of the songs are love songs. With twelve tracks and a runtime of over 40 minutes, it is one of SuperTon's longest released in 1993.
Milka's next album, Zbog tebe would include the title track as a bonus for the vinyl release.
