Đorđe Božoviću Giška was a founding member of the Serbian Guard along with Serbian Renewal Party leader Vuk Drašković and Branislav Matić Beli, who funded the guard. The guard itself would have its own issues since Drašković himself was anticommunist, and in August of 1991, Beli would be killed by an unknown assailant.
