Mom Brodu (lit. My Brod) also known as Mom Brodu, ranjenom i ponosnom, is a compilation album released in late 1992, by Radio Brod and the weekly newsletter Posavska Hrvatska in collaboration with the Naša djeca society. The tape contains 14 patriotic songs of various genres made by singers from Slavonski Brod from 1991-1992.
Background
During the war in Slavonski Brod, various singers and groups recorded patriotic songs. In 1992, at the initiative of Duško Svilar, a corresponded and photographer for HRT during the war in Slavonski Brod, also a rock singer during his youth, decided to compile some of these songs in one place.[1]
The name of the tape comes from the title of a book named Mom Brodu, ranjenom i ponosnom, written by Brod author Slavica Brinzej that contained patriotic literature, which coincided with the release of the tape. The back of the tape contains a poem called Hrvatskom Sinu by author Stanislava Čarapina along with a mention of every person involved in the making of the compilation.
