Plavo oko (lit. "Blue Eyes") is the debut studio album by folk singer Željko Samardžić Panonac, released in 1988, by Panonija Koncert and Diskopan. To date, it is the only release by Orkestar Proleteri and the only time Željko worked with both Proleteri and Panonija Koncert.

Background

Unlike most works from Panonac, which were either low-budget or in-house, the album would be produced in a professional setting. Panonac collaborated with Proleteri to write the lyrics and Vrbašanin, the album's producer, would be responsible for composing the album. The resulting work would sound unique compared to Panonac's future works.

Release

Plavo oko was released in 1988 on cassette an the following year on vinyl by Panonija Koncert. Diskopan would release the album using another picture from the same photoshoot as the LP cover, but its release year is currently unknown.

In 2010, Panonac would redo the last track and upload it to a short-lived, currently inactive YouTube channel.[1]

On the album's 30th anniversary in 2018, Plavo oko would be uploaded in full on Panonac's personal channel in the form of a raw vinyl rip. The audio would be slower than the original and "Konobaru, brate daj mi rakije" is cut off.[2] The description of the video states that the current rightsholders of the album are Panonac and Nikola Balać, a collaborator on Panonac's next release, Srpske patriotske pesme. Despite owning the rights of the album, neither of the rightsowners are in possession of the master.

Versions of the songs at the correct speed with the aforementioned track would be available via third party sites, though their origin (i.e., release version used) and their authorship is unknown.
