I zato pjevat ću... (lit. "And That is Why I Will Sing...") is the debut album of the Slavonski Brod band Trag Vječnosti, released in 1993, by Bordska podružnica HVIDR-e. The album was not only made in dedication to fallen and wounded soldiers, but also was a humanitarian effort with proceeds going towards families of those affected.[1] To date, it is the only album released by the band.

Background

In 1992, the band released their first war-related song "Stazama garde" which was featured in the compilation album Mom Brodu. It achieved great popularity and in response, the band collaborated with the Brod branch of the HVIDR to create an album that would raise funds for families of wounded and killed soldiers.[2]

Recording of the album took place in May 1993 at Studio Mlinčić in Zagreb and sound processing would be done by Croatiaton. The majority of the songs would be written by Ivana Glavašević. Zvonimir Ćosić - Ćosa is the main vocalist, though Predrag Matasović would be the main vocalist on two tracks.

The majority of the songs are patriotic in nature with some love songs. An adaptation of the A.G. Matoš poem, Gospa Marija is featured in the album as well as a reworked version of "Stazama garde".

Release

I zato pjevat ću... was released in some time in 1993, by Bordska podružnica HVIDR-e.

In present day, the album is available on YouTube,[3] though no pictures of the release itself have survived.
