"Koji je si na nebesi" (Serbian Cyrillic: "Који је си на небеси", lit. "You Who are in Heaven"), sometimes referred to as "Prokleta je Amerika" (Serbian Cyrillic: "Проклета је Амеркира", lit. "Cursed is America") is a song written and performed by Željko Samardžić Panonac. A longer version written by the album's editor, Zoran Protić - Šaparac would appear on the early 2000's album Na srkivenoj adresi.

Music and lyrics

Although the album uses a generic "narodna" credit for the lyricist, the song is an adapted version of the 1982 song "Dođi iz tuđine" which was a translated version of the Šaban Bajramović song "Geljan dade - Otišao si oče". The original song was a commentary on how a parent (most commonly the father) would emigrate to a foreign country for better economic opportunities, being absent from the household long-term to the point where it feels that they have forgotten their family.

This adapted version retains the melody of the lyrics, but would recontextualize the song. Instead of cursing America for taking away one's family member for better benefits and pay, the song curses America, Germany, and the Vatican for the grief they have caused to the Serbs.

Lyrics

Lyrics:

gledam srpska groblja
žene kako plaču
svaka suza njihova
daj mi snagu i ja ču
da ja dignem ruku
i nikad ne spustim
dok ne zatrem tragove
dušmanima pustim

prokleta je Amerika, Nemačka i Vatikan

Lyrics (English):

I see serbian graves
Women how they are crying
Every tear of theirs
Gives me strength
To raise my hand
And to never take it down
Until I erase the traces
Of enemies left desolate

Cursed is America, Germany and the Vatican
Out of the graves of martyrs the day of freedom shines
You who are in heaven, do You hear us?
Do You hear the voice of Your Serbs?

Here are the bonfires again to burn
We pray, pray
Help us, God
Save us from misery, from pain and wounds
What are they guilty of, Your Serbs from the Balkans?

Cursed is America, Germany and the Vatican
Out of the graves of Marytyrs the day of freedom shines
You who are in heaven, do You hear us?
Do You hear the voice of Your Serbs?

You who are in heaven, do You hear us?
Do You hear the voice of Your Serbs?
