"Krv nije voda" (Serbian Cyrillic: "Крв није вода", lit. "Blood is Not Water") is a song written and performed by prominent Serb war singer Baja Mali Knindža. The song would be referenced in "Ćuti, ćuti ujko", but would be referred to as "Stiže vojvoda". According to a 2021 interview, around the start of the war Baja would break up his usual routine of love songs and perform "Krv nije voda" to great reception.[1] The earliest surviving live appearance of "Krv nije voda" in a set list would be in 1993 where an adapted version of "Vrati se vojvodo" uses the chorus.[2]

Music and lyrics

While it sounds similar to other song on the album, "Krv nije voda" has a celebratory, triumphant tune. The song is about Chetniks returning to fight once more. By looking at a picture of Đujić with Chetniks, the singer is filled with determination to never give Krajina. By joining the fight one is, by extension joining Momčilo's army and one with the Chetniks. The chorus warns blood is not water and that the vojvoda will be coming soon.

Lyrics

Lyrics:

Na prasnjavoj staroj slici
Stoji Đurić i četnici, i četnici
Kunem se pred ovom slikom
da Krajinu ne dam nikom

Krv nije voda, krv nije voda
stiže vojvoda, stiže vojvoda

U Strmici kod Grahova
sve je vojska Momčilova, Momčilova
Hoćemo li mili rode
u četnike kod vojvode, kod vojvode

Krv nije voda, krv nije voda
stiže vojvoda, stiže vojvoda

Sve odoše naše dike,
sve odoše u četnike, u četnike
Hoćemo li i mi rode,
u četnike kod vojvode, kod vojvode

Krv nije voda, krv nije voda
stiže vojvoda, stiže vojvoda
