"Joža tužni" (Serbian Cyrillic: "Јожа тужни", lit. "Joža is Sad") is a song written and performed by prominent Serb war singer Baja Mali Knindža. It is one of few songs to be critical of Josip Broz Tito, the president of Yugoslavia from 1943 until his death in 1980. It is the least popular song from Stan'te paše i ustaše with only having 352,000 views in comparison to the second lowest viewed song, "Ni metra više" which currently has more than double the view count.
Music and Lyrics
The melody of "Joža tužni" is very similar to "Stan'te paše i ustaše", the song that comes before it.
"Joža" is the nickname for Tito and the song's title may have been intentional to bypass censors.
The song is about how Josip deceived to Serbs. He mentions Jasenovac which was a concentration camp that was covered up in order to keep peaceful relations between Serbs and Croats postwar. Another location mentioned is Goli Otok, which housed a prison camp for anti-communists as well as Partizans who were for the Soviet Union or were opposed to Tito.
